A text, song or film that everyone should experience.
Normal people (lovely show on BBC)

What is the story behind your profession/ passion?
I started I Can Make Shoes 10 years ago to bring the craft of shoemaking into the ‘at-home’ space. I teach total beginners how to make their own shoes and how to repeat the steps from home. It’s been a perfect time for us to launch our Online Course so that people can learn this new skill while they are stuck at home.

How has the current situation affected how you work?
We’ve gone completely online! As soon as we had to start postponing our shoemaking courses I started filming them instead. It’s been an amazing way to bring our community together from a distance.

Have you actively chosen to live in the city/town you live in?
Yes, I moved to London in 2009 from Sydney. I started my business here in 2010 and wouldn’t change it for the world.

What does freedom mean to you?
The ability to embrace change with calm and ease. An openness to change means that you are able to make choices and decisions for yourself.

Should calm come from within or be facilitated by the environment?
Oh definitely from within, as long as you are open to it.

Lastly, how do wish to see this current situation have a positive impact on our lives?
I hope that it inspires people to see that they have new choices and to acknowledge different paths for themselves other than the obvious. We’ve all been thrown into this situation and some people are resisting it, waiting for things to go back to normal and other people are embracing the change and even getting excited about how different their lives might look. I guess I’m saying that I hope people find silver linings in their own ways.
