A text, song or film that everyone should experience.
Book
EAT UP! by RubyTandoh. This books encompasses food nostalgia and the simple but magical satisfaction of eating in everyday life - very fitting for the current time - remembering how to appreciate those small moments.
Song Escape - Rupert Holmes - Me and my housemates had a BBQ in our repurposed outdoor bin storage to terrace area on Friday, we made Pina Coladas and danced.

What is the story behind your profession/ passion?
I started baking when I was about 12 or so, I am not sure why but it might have something to do with the plastic kitchen I was given for Christmas when I was 4.

How do you want people to react to your work / passion?
I love what I do and am passionate about all the people, process, skill and time it takes to produce amazing ingredients and food. I hope this is reflected in what I create, I enjoy introducing people to something they haven’t tried before and when it comes down to it. I just want them to get the same joy from eating it as I do making it!

What trait do you treasure in other people?
The ability to make the most of what you have in a creative way + positivity + awareness.

Who do you miss?
Strangers...definitely took those daily interactions for granted!  ..and of Course my Benk + Bo Fam, Family & Friends.

When was the last time you learned something new and what was it?
I have jumped onboard that lockdown sourdough train and I am so glad I did! I used to work at E5 Bakery as a chef & then in the patisserie team, they taught me what GREAT bread is (an amazing place, if you haven’t been, add it to your list post lockdown). Since working there I have always wanted to try making it myself but hadn’t found or made the time. It’s such a satisfying process which requires care and time, I am only 2 loaves in but I am already excited for my 3rd.

Lastly, how do wish to see this current situation have a positive impact on our lives?
I hope we all hold onto the importance of slowing down to appreciate the people around us, how fortunate we are to have so many luxuries in our daily lives and the feeling of unity. We are all in this together.
