First Solo Show -And Counting is a holistic exploration of the body and mind.
This collection of work was born from a collaboration between Wyth and the curator, Lucy Chenery, in an effort to dance with new ideas and welcome uncertainty. Each painting, whether abstract or figurative, is derived from a series of sittings with Michael, an acquaintance of Wyth’s.
Although Wyth originally pursued a career in fashion, art has always been a significant part of her life; during the late-90s she completed an art foundation in Paris and often painted in her spare time. Wyth’s subsequent move to London, and discovery of art therapy, motivated her to retrain as a painter and was the catalyst for the intimate, responsive method of painting that defines her practice today. Each of her paintings continue to be an expression of honesty, introspection and presence.
