Joe Warrior Walker, Bristol
Painter

Originally from St Ives in Cornwall, Joe Warrior Walker spent much of his childhood travelling through his mother’s home country of India. In 2009, Joe returned to the UK to study at the Chelsea School of Fine Art.

His works, formed on board from mixed media are narratives, movement applied in layers, shape and texture.

After completing his MA at UAE London, Joe now exhibits work across the UK and overseas; producing artwork from his studio in Bristol.

Sofia Tufvasson, Sweden
Sculptor/Ceramicist

After spending 20 years as a graphic designer, Sofia Tufvasson began working with clay, a long-term inspiration of hers. This led to the creation of the home-grown ceramic brand Tufva Design from her studio in Stockholm, bringing handmade, stand-alone objects of sculptural and functional nature to life.

Sofia believes working with clay creates an invitingly warm and alive feeling and that the material often has a mind of its own. This interplay between soft shapes and graphic rigidity brings her background in graphic design forward with each charming piece.

Adriana Jaros, London (Venezuela)
Painter + Mixed Media and Sculpture

“I believe that everything starts with an idea, a concept that its then developed and translated into a space or material canvas.”

My name is Adriana and  I am a multidisciplinary artist originally from Venezuela. I am passionate about colour, materials and the visual language as the means to connect with the world by imagining worlds or objects that can become experiences and moments of joy.

I research the interaction of colours, shapes and materials exploring how these elements can elevate our senses, affect our human consciousness and in turn create aesthetic experiences that can enhance our wellbeing.

Woven Form (Charlotte Wakefield), London
Weaver

Charlotte Wakefield, the founder of Woven Form, creates unique handwoven textile pieces. She works from her home studio based in South East London, where she hand weaves all of her works.

Charlotte's inspiration mainly comes from architecture: one building alone can spark ideas for an entire collection. She loves the combinations of colours, textures and patterns used to make the built world so diverse.  Her works are created with recycled yarns, using deadstock from mills and factories and preventing them from going to waste. Charlotte says that the most important element is texture: fluffy mohair, loop mohair, lambswool, alpaca, cotton flag, flecked yarns.

Kanica, Spain
Weaver

Laura Vargas Llanas is the creative force behind Kanica, a collection of bespoke and unique fibre pieces, influenced by the likes of Agnes Martin, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, the Bauhaus Movement and XXth century design and architecture. Each piece is individually handcrafted with natural and ethically sourced fibres, such as merino and alpaca wool, cotton and jute. The results are colourful and decorative works of art that embrace and revisit handcrafted embroidery and weaving techniques with a design aesthetics.

Laura currently lives and works in Madrid. She has a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art and a Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art. She has previously worked at Christie’s auction house, Carpenters Workshop Gallery and Il Cigno GG Edizioni. Kanica is currently available from Wilo & Grove Gallery - Paris, The Socialite Family - Paris, Yume Sustainable Design - Copenhagen and Paul Smith Design - London.

Formworks (Jon), Wales
Painter

Formworks Studio was founded by Jon Llewelyn in 2016.

His inspiration is drawn from bold and geometric styles found in contemporary architecture, the Bauhaus movement, furniture design and graphic art.

The results of his work are carefully considered art pieces. Each piece has embraced the naturally occurring free and explorative creative process.

Jon creates and produces editions that challenge the viewer’s sense of perception, depth and space, by exploring and exposing the boundless relationship of bold geometry, 3D and colour play.

This year she will be exhibiting at the prestigious and highly regarded No20 Arts gallery in Highbury and Islington and developing her research on the bones found on the Thames foreshore.
She is currently living and working in London, developing her research on the psychology of collecting and the emotional significance of objects and place.

Carla Noronha, London (Portugeuse)
Painter

Carla Noronha produces works exploring the notion of home. Moving to the UK from Portugal when she was five years old left her confused and disconnected from her original background.

Carla plays with the concept of distorted memories of the environment we inhabit. She explores the relationship between our surroundings and our mental health through her work: mundane and familiar objects of our everyday space helping us feel comfortable and safe. She incorporates a collage of ‘things’ curated abstractly on the canvas, where shape and colour intertwine to portray an unrealistic scene.

Abid Javed, London (Arabic)
Sculptor

Abid Javed is a ceramic artist, creating collectable ‘molecular objects’.

With a background in Molecular Biology, the collections and objects bring in the unseen world to the forefront, with an aim to build a spiritual connection.

The body of work places itself in between functional and sculptural, focusing on form and the natural state of the clay body.  Subject matters explored include cells, molecules, together with Arabic script and geometry.

All objects are hand-built and are unique, each carefully crafted around a storyline.

De La Jardin, London
Sculptor

Jacqueline de la Fuente is the artist and maker behind DE LA JARDIN of paper clay vases and prints. She has had a creative career over the course of 8 years as a Textile Designer in Print and Weave as well as a Professional baker, all of which have been invaluable in her creative journey, giving her incredible experience from learning about design, working with her hands and exploring materials.

Paper clay vases came about organically through Jacqueline’s slight obsession with shapes, form and her love for sculptures and vases. As much as she wanted to work with ceramics and clay, having access to a studio with a 3 year old in tow wasn’t the option. She decided to look at how she could create objects and vases from her home, at the same time,  she has always been conscious of waste and the environment which is where she started to experiment with the classic childhood favourite 'Papier Mache’ - no balloons involved!

Each vase is slowly hand sculpted, therefore the traces of her fingertips and hands on the surface make each piece tactile, unique and one of a kind. She creates different shapes where some are left in their natural pulp finish or she hand paints them using high quality water based paints that have a small carbon footprint. The pieces are not water tight but she appreciates the charm of this material and saving H20, so dried flowers are a prefect match - no watering needed!

To create pieces from "trash to treasure" for Jacqueline, feels very rewarding as well as fulfilling and she loves that her sculpted vases can stand tall in people homes as decorative and calming pieces.

Dominic McHenry, London
Sculptor

Dominic McHenry (born 1989) is a British sculptor living and working in Camberwell, London. His work focuses on geometric forms and repeating patterns. The geometry of the sculptures takes president over the material; The form is the subject and the material is the method.

He believes that sculpture should be an essential part of our daily lives, either as an object of discussion or as an object of meditation
